Apple has changed the Crimean map to comply with the Russian demands to show the peninsula as per of the Russian territory.

Crimea was annexed from Ukraine by the Russian government in March 2014 despite international condemnation.

The Russian parliament’s lower house, The State Duma, confirmed that Crimea and Sevastopol now appear on Apple devices as Russian territory. Russia treats the port city of Sevastopol as a separate region.

Apple has been holding talks with The State Duma to resolve the matter. The tech giant had previously labeled Crimea as an undefined region i.e., part of neither Ukraine nor Russia.

In a statement, the chairman of the Duma security and anti-corruption committee confirmed that Apple had already complied with their demands. He said the company’s representatives were reminded that labeling Crimea as part of Ukraine was criminal.
