At least eight people were injured after a five-storey building collapsed in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Monday.
According to local media reports, emergency personnel were still at the scene, rescuing those trapped under the rubble.
Although the cause of the collapse was not immediately established, the country was recently hit by severe flooding that left at least sixty people dead.
The building collapsed building had a mix of residential and commercial spaces.
There has been a concern about the safety standard of buildings in the city following the rise in tragic collapses.
In 2018, seven teenagers who were practising for a dance and music show were killed after a building they were in collapsed in Cirebon, east of Jakarta.
In the same year, at least 75 people were injured after a mezzanine floor at Indonesia’s stock exchange building in Jakarta collapsed.
