At least six people and a policeman have been killed as the new wave of violence and protests entered the third day in India.
The clashes happened amid US President Trump’s visit to the country where he is scheduled to hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Nehandra Modi.
The violence was reported in Muslim populated areas of the country including Yamuna Vihar, Vijay Park, Bhajanpura, Maujpur and Karawal Nagar.
The protesters are opposing the new Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which they believe is “anti-muslim”.
Police fired teargas and smoke grenades to disperse the demonstrators. A tire market was set on fire during Monday’s protests.
