At least 19 people were killed and several others were injured in clashes in the disputed Abyei region on the Sudan-South Sudan border.
Confirming the attack, the United Nations Interim Security Force in Abyei (UNISFA) said the Dinka village of Kolom was attacked by suspected nomadic Misseriya herders from Sudan.
The attackers are also reported to have set 19 houses on fire.
As per the statement, twenty-five people who were wounded in the attack were rushed to hospitals run by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in the town of Agok.
UNISFA peacekeepers were deployed to contain the situation in the region.
