A Minnesota man who was arrested in October 2018 on suspicion of raping his girlfriend’s 4-year-old twins has been convicted.
36-year-old Arturo Macarro Gutierrez was convicted Tuesday of raping his then girlfriend’s twin daughters and infecting them with gonorrhea.
Police arrested Gutierrez after one of the girls told her grandmother her “daddy” hurt her. The girl was taken to a hospital and tested positive for gonorrhea.
Gutierrez was arrested by a SWAT team as he hid in an attic at a home in St. Paul.
The man denied raping the girl but was charged after he tested positive for gonorrhea.
He was also charged with assaulting the girl’s twin sister after she too tested positive for a sexually transmitted disease.
Gutierrez was convicted on four counts of criminal sexual conduct. His sentencing is scheduled for April 1.
