Joe Biden to Name VP Vetting Team, Thinks of Cabinet Makeup

Biden to Announce a Committee Overseeing His Vice-Presidential Selection Process

Joe Biden said Friday that he would announce a committee to oversee his vice-presidential selection process and was already thinking of whom to choose for his Cabinet.

Biden, who held a significant lead in delegates over Sen. Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary race but was yet to clinch the nomination officially,  also stated that he spoke to Sanders to let him know that he would be proceeding with the vice-presidential vetting process. Biden, a former vice president, had previously committed to making a woman his running mate.

While calling Sanders a friend, Biden said that he did not want him to think that he was presumptuous by choosing a running mate.

Biden’s comments came in response to one of the questions in a virtual fundraiser about if he had been willing to release his full proposed Cabinet at the same time he announced his vice presidential pick.
