Dr. Laura Schlessinger N Word Controversy

Dr. Laura Schlessinger N Word Controversy – Dr. Laura Schlessinger made a very public faux pas, and has issued a public apology to try and make up for it. She was discussing the issue of race with a caller on her radio show, and said the N-word repeatedly.

An African American woman had called to talk to Schlessinger about an issue she was having with her Caucasian husband’s friends making racist remarks.
Schlessinger asked her for examples, and when the woman replied, Schlessinger said that she did not think those statements were racist. After that, the caller asked her about the use of the N-Word.

Schlessinger replied with multiple usages of the N-word, saying, “Black guys use it all the time. Turn on HBO, listen to a black comic, and all you hear is n—, n—, n—.”

The caller took offense at this, and told Schlessinger that she thought her usage was inappropriate. Schlessinger responded by saying, “If you’re that hypersensitive about color and don’t have a sense of humor, don’t marry out of your race.”

After this radio program aired, there was a large public outcry, demanding an apology from Schlessinger, which she gave, saying, “I talk every day about doing the right thing. And yesterday, I did the wrong thing.”
