US Government Ramps up Security for Dr Anthony Fauci because of Threats
The US government ramped up security for the nation’s top medical expert on the coronavirus pandemic, Dr Anthony Fauci, due to threats to his personal life.
Just after the US Marshals Service recommendation, the US Department of Justice approved a special deputization request from the US Department of Health and Human Services for over a half a dozen special agents to offer protective services to Fauci, a local news source reported.
Fauci, a member of President Trump’s COVID-19 task force, had become the face of the nation’s response to the novel coronavirus outbreak.
When asked if he had received any threats or had been provided with a security detail, Fauci responded that he could not answer the question and referred it to the US Department of Health and Human Services.
