Saugus High School Shooting Suspect Has Died while Receiving Treatment, According to Authorities

The suspect of Saugus High School shooting incident that killed 2 students died of his injuries Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

16-year-old Nathaniel Tennosuke Berhow died at 3:32 PT while receiving treatment at a hospital. His mother was with him at the time of his death, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooter killed two classmates, 15-year-old Gracie Muehlberger and 14-year-old Dominic Blackwell. Three other victims are nursing gunshot wounds and are expected to survive. Two of them remain hospitalized, and one was released from the hospital. Their names have not yet been released.

Berhow pulled a handgun from his backpack Thursday morning at Saugus High School in Santa Clarita and shot five of his fellow students before shooting himself on the head.

Berhow shot the students at random in an outdoor plaza as captured on a surveillance video.

Authorities have not yet established the motive behind the shooting.
