Residents in Beverly Hills Urged to Wear Face Masks, Even on Neighborhood Strolls

All Beverly Hills residents, including essential workers, were issued an order Thursday to wear face masks when leaving their homes. This included those going for a walk through their neighborhood.

The order, which went into effect at 6 p.m. Friday, required people to put on a scarf, bandana, or any other cloth that could be used to cover their faces in a bid to slow down the spread of coronavirus.

Officials in Beverly Hills urged residents to leave the medical-grade masks for health and emergency workers.

Under the mandate, drivers who traveled alone or with members of their family were not required to wear face coverings unless when lowering their vehicle windows for any reason.

The city had recorded 71 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
