Jon Stewart On Rick Sanchez Controversy

Jon Stewart On Rick Sanchez Controversy – Comedian Jon Stewart recently mocked Rick Sanchez, the CNN anchor who was recently fired, and said that he was highly comparable to Michael Scott, the character played by Steve Carrell on “The Office”. Sanchez was recently fired after he called Stewart a bigot and said that the majority of TV networks were controlled by people of the Jewish faith.

Stewart began his Monday night episode of “The Daily Show” by discussing Sanchez’s comments for several minutes. He particularly focused on the comments that Sanchez had made about Stewart’s supposedly lavish upbringing. Sanchez said about Stewart’s home life, “I’m so happy he grew up in a suburban New Jersey home with everything you could ever imagine.”

In response to this, Stewart said, “I do occasionally have my issues with Rick Sanchez and his program, but he nailed what it was like growing up in Central Jersey in the early 70’s, the fortunate son of a single mother in the education field.”

Stewart had also compiled a series of clips that compared Sanchez to Michael Scott of “The Office”, including shots of them both wearing black hats backwards, using the acronym “TMI”, and talking up major trends online.

Rick Sanchez apologized to Jon Stewart.

  1. Well, I think it’s to bad that Rick Sanchez was fired. He really added something to the CNN News Staff. I feel he is a bright and intuitive intellectual. I also feel that he is not racist. Maybe, however, if we all were not able to think on our own, including our bosses, we could be microcosms of everyone else, walking around like zombies, you think the world would be a better place? Ha, there wouldn’t be a need for any newsshows or anything else, as a matter of fact. Anyone can be replaced, that a known fact. But at what price of someone elses heart and soul? When bosses fire people, are they doing it for others they think are affected, or are they doing it for themselves?
