Woman Killed in DUI Car Accident on Highway 299 near Grizzly Gulch Road in Redding

Redding, California (January 30, 2020) – A man has been arrested following a fatal head-on collision that happened in Redding near Whiskeytown scales on Wednesday evening.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 299 near Grizzly Gulch Road.

As per the report, a Chevy pickup truck and a Toyota pickup truck collided head-on on the roadway for unknown reasons.

The female driver, whose identity was not immediately disclosed, was killed in the crash.

The Toyota pickup truck driver, 42-year-old Hawk Blaze Bergstrom, was injured in the accident and was taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

Bergstrom was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.             

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
