Oceanside, California (February 10, 2020) – The authorities have disclosed the identity of a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision in Oceanside on Saturday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 1:34 p.m. February 8, on Oceanside Boulevard.

59-year-old Timothy James Bauer was riding a motorcycle westbound on Oceanside Boulevard when he crashed into a sanitation truck that was leaving the El Corazon Compost facility.

The truck, operated by 64-year-old Ronald Estes, is reported to have made a left-hand turn in front of the rider.

Bauer, a resident of Oceanside, was killed in the accident.

Mr. Estes was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter.

The Oceanside Police Department is investigating the accident.
