6 Injured in Tehama County Bus Accident on Highway 99W at Gerber Road

Gerber, California (January 9, 2020) – Several people were injured in a collision involving a bust that happened in Gerber, Tehama County, on Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 7:51 a.m. on Highway 99W at Gerber Road.

The authorities said a 17-year-old boy was driving a Ford Mustang eastbound on Gerber Road when he pulled out in front of a northbound Ford E-450 TRAX transit bus driven by 68-year-old Steven Darrough of Red Bluff.

The teenage driver was injured in the accident and was taken to Mercy Medical Center while his 14-year-old passenger was taken to St. Elizabeth Community for treatment of major injuries.

Darrough and his three passengers identified as 74-year-old Mary Ann Griffin, 41-year-old Ronnie Allemand and 66-year-old Anthony Leon were injured in the accident and were rushed to Mercy Medical Center.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
