California (October 19, 2019) – One person was killed in a car accident
that left two people injured in Yucca Valley on Saturday morning.
According to a local news source, the accident happened at
about 6:30 a.m. on Highway 62 near Indio Avenue.
As per the report, a Honda Civic had been traveling
eastbound on the roadway and was making a turn at the intersection when it
collided with a Sheriff’s patrol car.
A passenger in the Honda, 24-year-old Robert Barajas of
Yucca Valley, was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Honda, 22-year-old Thomas Geiger, was
seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Desert Hospital in Palm
Springs for treatment.
The officer is reported to have sustained minor injuries and
was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
