Chula Vista, California (October 1, 2019) –The police are investigating a traffic collision that killed a pedestrian on Monday afternoon in Chula Vista.
The tragic accident occurred at about 1:10 p.m. on Fourth Avenue and Shasta Street near H Street, according to a report by the authorities.
A work truck was reportedly speeding on the roadway when it lost control and rolled over crashing into two parked vehicles.
The impact of the collision caused one of the parked cars to strike a pedestrian.
The firefighters responded to the scene and rescued the pedestrian who was trapped underneath the car. The unidentified man was then rushed to a local hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
A mother and her two children were also injured in the crash and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the truck freed himself from the overturned vehicle and declined treatment.
