Marcelino Cabrera III Killed in Car Crash at Mariposa Road and Main Street in Hesperia

Hesperia, California (October 31, 2019) – A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal car accident that happened in Hesperia on October 12.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 8 p.m. at Mariposa Road and Main Street.

CHP said 26-year-old Ramses Gonzales was driving a BMW westbound on the roadway when he collided with a Honda Accord driven by 46-year-old Marcelino Cabrera III.

The impact of the collision sent the BMW off the roadway where it crashed into a tree.

Cabrera was killed in the accident.         

Gonzales was injured in the accident and was flown to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition.

Gonzales was later arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

No further information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
