Reedley, California (November 28, 2019) – A man has been arrested on suspicion of DUI following a fatal car accident that occurred on Tuesday evening in Reedley, Fresno County.

The deadly collision occurred on Adams Avenue between Alta Avenue and Pedersen Avenue at about 5:14 p.m. November 14.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 61-year-old Manuel Ramirez Jr. was driving a Volkswagen Jetta eastbound on Adams Avenue when he collided with a westbound Jeep Cherokee driven by 28-year-old Christina Yashimo.

An unidentified female passenger in the Jetta was killed in the crash.

Three children in the Jetta were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

Ramirez was also transported to CRMC with major injuries. He will be booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI a felony gross vehicular manslaughter.

No further information was provided. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
