Santa Maria, California (October 4, 2019) – One person was killed in a car accident that occurred in Santa Maria on Friday afternoon.
According to a local news source, the fatal car accident happened on Highway 1 near Black Road outside Rancho Maria Golf Club at about noon.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol said a big rig that was transporting celery collided with a pickup truck that was pulling out of the golf course.
A passing Volkswagen Jetta reportedly swerved to avoid the collision and overturned.
The paramedics who responded to the incident hat to extricate the driver of the big rig which overturned on the roadway. Sadly, the unidentified driver died at the scene of the accident.
No injuries were reported.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
