Man Killed in Collision Involving Stolen Car on Harmony Grove Road near Wild Willow Hollow Road in Elfin Forest

Escondido, California (February 2, 2020) – A man has been arrested after a multi-vehicle collision that killed one person and injured in Elfin Forest area between Escondido and Rancho Santa Fe on Friday, January 31.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Harmony Grove Road near Wild Willow Hollow Road at about 7:40 a.m.

The authorities said 38-year-old Ardeshir Tooraji of Carlsbad and his three passengers were traveling in a stolen SUV when he collided with a Subaru for unknown reasons.

A Toyota Prius was also involved in the accident.

The impact of the collision caused the SUV to overturn.

The 28-year-old Chula Vista man who was driving the Subaru was killed in the accident.

Tooraji and his three passengers suffered minor injuries in the accident and were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Tooraji was later arrested on suspicion of auto theft and possession of stolen property.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
