(January 19, 2020) – James
Edmonds, 30, has been identified by the coroner’s office as the man who
was killed in a pedestrian accident in Lancaster on Wednesday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway.
Mr. Edmonds was
reportedly running westbound across the 14 Freeway when he was hit by a northbound
2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 26-year-old Rosamond man.
The motorist told the
police he was unable to avoid the collision.
James Edmonds was killed
in the accident.
The driver suffered
minor injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
Alcohol and drugs were
ruled out as factors in the accident.
No other information was provided.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
