One Killed, Several Injured in Santa Barbara Pedestrian Accident Involving MTD Bus at Chapala Street and Figueroa Street

Santa Barbara, California (October 10, 2019) –  The CHP is investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian accident involving an MTD bus that happened Wednesday afternoon, killing one person and injuring others.

The accident was reported at about 2:30 p.m. October 9, near the intersection of Chapala Street and W. Figueroa Street.

As per the local news report, an MTD bus hit two people who were at the bus stop for unknown reasons.

One person was killed while the second pedestrian sustained major injuries.

Several people who were inside the bus suffered minor to moderate injuries. Two of them were transported to the hospital for treatment.

The MTD driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

No further information was provided.

The incident is under investigation.
