Compton, California (October 2, 2019) – A man who was killed in a pedestrian accident on Monday night in Compton has been identified.

According to a local news source, the fatal pedestrian accident happened on Gardena (91) Freeway at about 11:30 a.m. September 30.

26-year-old Chancy Hill Jr. had been driving his Mercedes Benz on the Freeway when he collided with a Scion XA for unknown reasons.

His car came to rest in the HOV lane after the collision.

Hill reportedly exited his car and began walking in the eastbound lanes when he was hit by a passing Ford Mustang driven by a 32-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man.

Hill, a resident of Carson, was also struck by a Mercedes Benz driven by a 47-year-old Corona man.

Hill was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 31-year-old Compton woman who was driving Scion XA was hospitalized with moderate injuries.

No further information was provided.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
