(November 6, 2019) – 84-year-old Carlos Mejia was identified as the man who
was struck and killed by a car in Hollywood on Friday morning.
The accident happened on Hollywood Freeway near Gower Street
at about 1 a.m., November 1.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Mejia was walking
on the roadway when he was hit by a car operated by a 34- year-old Sanger man.
Mejia was seriously injured in the collision and was
transported to a local hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and
cooperated with the authorities.
No further information was provided.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is
ongoing.
