Desert Hot Springs, California (January 28, 2020) – Antone Bayard of Anza has been arrested in connection with a fatal three-car accident that happened in Desert Hot Springs, Riverside County, early this month.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened on State Route 371 just north of Wilson Valley Road at about 6:15 a.m. January 3.

Three vehicles are reported to have collided on the roadway for unknown reasons.

A 63-year-old female Aguanga resident was killed in the accident.

As per the CHP report, Antone Bayard fled the scene on foot after the accident. However, he was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, January 28.

Bayard was charged with murder and hit and run causing serious or fatal injuries.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
