(January 7, 2019) – 42-year-old Anthony J. Beckett Jr. has been identified as the Lancaster man who died after a
car crash on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway on Saturday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 1 a.m. January 4, on 14 Freeway near Barrel Springs Road.
The authorities said a 2005
Pontiac Grand Prix was involved in a traffic collision on the roadway. Beckett,
the driver of the car and a passenger exited their car which was partially
blocking the No. 3 lane of the freeway.
A short time later, a second
car approached the scene of the crash causing Mr. Beckett to leap over a
Becket sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
