2 Killed in DUI Car Crash on Highway 101 near Highway 280 in San Jose

San Francisco, California (December 1, 2019) – Two people were killed in a suspected DUI car accident that left five people injured in San Francisco on Sunday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal car crash happened on Highway 101 near Highway 280 at about 4:10 a.m.

The authorities said 21-year-old Esteban Aguilar Jimenez was driving a Dodge at a high rate of speed and was trying to pass a Nissan Rogue when it crashed into the vehicle.

The Nissan crashed into a guardrail after being struck by a car.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene while the second person succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

At least five other people were injured in the crash and were taken to Valley Medical Center for treatment.

Jimenez was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

No further information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
