Berkeley, California (November 20, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-car
accident that happened on Monday morning in Berkeley.
The accident occurred on 80 Freeway east of
Gilman Street at around 5:15 a.m., November 18.
A disabled black Nissan sedan with its hazard
lights was in the fast lane of eastbound 80 Freeway when it was hit by a silver
The Nissan driver was pronounced dead at the
scene by emergency personnel who arrived at the scene shortly after the
The Volkswagen driver sustained minor injuries
and was taken to Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center for treatment.
The identities of both drivers were not
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be
factors in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
