San Jose, California (February 13, 2020) – A man who was hit and killed by a Valley Transportation Authority light-rail train on Monday morning in San Jose has been identified.
The victim was identified by the Santa Clara Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office as 37-year-old Daniel Leon Spring.
Mr. Spring was walking in the tracks parallel to Highway 87 when he was hit by the VTA train that was traveling southbound.
The accident was reported at about 9 a.m. February 10.
Spring was pronounced dead at the scene.
VTA sent buses to ferry passengers between Curtner and Tamien light-rail stations.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
