Richard Alvarez Hurt in Sonora Car Accident on Chicken Ranch Road

Sonora, California – Richard Alvarez, 69, of Modesto sustained injuries in a traffic accident on Chicken Ranch Road in Sonora on Monday, March 22, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 2005 Mercedes sedan was traveling northbound on Chicken Ranch Road behind a 2001 Mercedes sedan when the first Mercedes, due to its speed, swerved and traveled up an embankment on the right shoulder.

The 2005 Mercedes then rolled onto the passenger side of the 2001 Mercedes.

The incident occurred at around 3:50 p.m.

The driver of the 2005 Mercedes, Albert Roman III, 20, of Oakdale, and his passengers, Nathaniel Stetson, 19, of Ceres and a 16-year-old Oakdale girl, fled from the scene after the crash.

Alvarez was a passenger in the 2001 Mercedes, which was being driven by Floyd Johnson Jr, 60, of Modesto. CHP said Alvarez sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Roman was located and arrested at a property near the crash scene shortly after. Stetson and the other passenger were also located near the scene of the accident.

Roman was arrested for hit-and-run while Stetson was taken into custody for delaying a peace officer. They were both booked into the Tuolumne County jail.

Stetson was later found to be carrying a clear baggy with a white crystal substance, believed to be Methamphetamine, one of his shoes. He was charged with bringing a controlled substance into a jai.

The accident is under investigation and authorities do not believe DUI was a factor.

Arin Khodaverdian, CEO and Managing Attorney of Alpine Law Group, urges accidents victims and their families to immediately seek legal assistance. “Those who are affected by tragedy have rights, but they must act quickly in order to preserve those rights. Swift action by an intelligent and experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
