2 Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 116 in Petaluma

Petaluma, California- Two people sustained major injuries Thursday morning in a Petaluma crash on Highway 116 at South McDowell Boulevard.

At least four vehicles were involved in the crash that happened just before 8 a.m.

What caused the collision was not immediately determined.

Two people were severely injured in the crash and were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities shut down both directions of the highway between South McDowell Boulevard and Browns Lane following the collision.

No other information about the collision was provided.

The California Highway Patrol is working to find out what led to the accident.
