Michael Rigg Killed in Pine Cove Accident on Sylvan Way

Pine Cove, California – Michael Rigg, 7, of Beaumont has been identified as the child who was killed in a Pine Cove crash in the 52500 block of Sylvan Way on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At around 2:50 p.m. March 14, CHP said a 35-year-old Desert Hot Springs man was driving a 2020 Ford Transit 350 van at low speeds eastbound on Sylvan Way when Rigg slid into the street from a driveway and was hit by the van.

The driver of the van rushed Rigg to Cal Fire Keenwild Station, 28599 Highway 243, in Idyllwild, where he was pronounced deceased as a medical helicopter was being requested.

DUI was not believed to have played a role in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Arin Khodaverdian, CEO and Managing Attorney of Alpine Law Group, urges accidents victims and their families to immediately seek legal assistance. “Those who are affected by tragedy have rights, but they must act quickly in order to preserve those rights. Swift action by an intelligent and experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
