Sal Fernandez Killed in Garden Grove Collision on Euclid Street and Orangewood Avenue

Garden Grove, California – Sal Fernandez, 34, was among three people who were killed in a Garden Grove accident that took place in the area of Euclid Street and Orangewood Avenue early Friday morning, according to the authorities.
Officers from the Garden Grove Police Department saw a Dodge Ram truck traveling at a high rate of speed through a parking lot in the area of Chapman Avenue and Harbor Boulevard at around 2:15 a.m.
They began pursuing the vehicle and activated their lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the driver.
Minutes later, the speeding truck collided with a car at Euclid Street and Orangewood Avenue.
The truck then crashed through a wall, struck a water hydrant and overturned into a pool at a home.
Fernandez was one of the two occupants of the truck. Fernandez and the second occupant, Joseph Mendoza, 28, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the car, Michael Clugston, 39, of Anaheim, was taken to UC Irvine Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The accident is under investigation.
