Esperanza Cruz Killed in Tustin DUI Crash on 55 Freeway

Tustin, California – Esperanza Cruz, 24, of Anaheim has been identified as the woman who was killed in the Tustin DUI crash on 55 Freeway early Tuesday morning, according to the authorities.

The accident occurred when Anthony Robles, 27, of Rowland Heights was driving a BMW sedan southbound on 55 Freeway at a high rate of speed and slammed into the back of a Lexus SUV.

The deadly collision was reported at around 2:10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Due to the force of the collision, the SUV reportedly overturned.

Cruz who was a passenger in the BMW died in the crash.

Rousseau, who was the SUV driver, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital.

CHP believed Robles was driving under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested after being taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
