Mateo Salvador Among 2 Killed in Escondido Accident on Mission Avenue and Ash Street

Escondido California – Mateo Salvador, 33, was among two men who were killed in an Escondido crash on Mission Avenue and Ash Street late Friday night, according to the Escondido police.

At around 11:20 p.m. February 12, police said a 13-year-old girl who allegedly took her mother’s Ford Explorer fled from the authorities who tried to stop her for a traffic violation near Mission Avenue and Gamble Street.

The teen was driving on Mission and when she attempted to make a left turn onto Ash, she lost control. The vehicle drifted off the side and collided with Salvador and Sofio Sotelo Torres, 51, who were sleeping in the bushes.

One of the men was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second was transported to a hospital, where he also succumbed to his injuries.

The girl and her juvenile passenger fled the scene after the accident but were apprehended shortly after.

The girls were later handed over to their parents.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
