Brianne Hayes Dies in Fatal Newbury Park Accident on 101 Freeway

Newbury Park, California – Brianne Hayes, 24, of Oxnard was among two people killed in a Newbury Park crash that occurred on Thursday afternoon, according to the authorities.

Shortly after noon on February 4, CHP said Gina Garcia, 58, of Ventura was driving a Kia northbound on the 101 Freeway when she swerved into the fast lane and collided with a gray Chevrolet SUV at Borchard Road.

The Kia then drifted back into the slow lane and collided with a black Toyota sedan. The impact pushed the Kia off the side and it collided with a tree along the freeway, before coming to a rest on its roof.

Hayes was a passenger in the Kia. The crash killed both Hayes and a second passenger, identified as Adrian Sapien, 25, of Ventura.

Garcia was taken to Los Robles Medical Center with major injuries following the crash.

Authorities said Garcia was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular manslaughter.

The accident remains under investigation.

We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
