Gina Garcia Arrested after Fatal Thousand Oaks Accident on 101 Freeway

Thousand Oaks, California – Gina Garcia, 58, of Ventura was arrested after a Thousand Oaks crash that left two people dead on Thursday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Shortly after noon on February 4, CHP said Garcia was driving a Kia northbound on the 101 Freeway when she swerved into the fast lane and collided with a gray Chevrolet SUV at Borchard Road.

The Kia then drifted back into the slow lane and collided with a black Toyota sedan. The impact pushed the Kia off the side and it collided with a tree along the freeway, before coming to a rest on its roof.

Two passengers in the Kia, a 25-year-old Ventura man and a 24-year-old Oxnard woman, were killed in the crash.

Garcia was hospitalized with major injuries following the accident.

No other injuries were reported.

Authorities said Garcia was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular manslaughter following the collision.

The accident remains under investigation.

Swift action by an intelligent and experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
