Motorcyclist Injured in Lake Elsinore Crash on Ortega (74) Highway

Lake Elsinore, California – A man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a Lake Elsinore motorcycle accident on Ortega (74) Highway near Tenaja Truck Trail.

According to the police report, a motorcycle went off the road and plunged down an embankment, about 20 feet below the highway.

The victim was unable to move and called 911 to inform the authorities.

The incident happened shortly after 12:55 p.m. on January 21.

After about one hour, firefighters were able to locate and rescue the motorcycle.

The rider was flown to a hospital with a broken leg and other multiple fractures, according to the authorities.

The crash caused the closure of both highway directions as the crews worked to recover the motorcycle and the victim.

Further details about the accident were not provided.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
