Woman Killed in Santa Cruz Car Accident on El Rancho Drive Identified

Santa Cruz, California – Andrea Dark,28, of San Jose has been identified as the woman who was killed Sunday night following a DUI crash that happened along El Rancho Drive near Highway 7, according to the Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office.

At about 9:45 p.m. January 10, Jesse Vong,30, from San Jose, was reportedly driving a 2013 Volkswagen Golf south on El Rancho Drive at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed into a wooden utility pole.

The vehicle continued up an embankment and collided with a tree, before overturning and blocking the roadway

Dark, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene of the crash.

Vong was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with major injuries and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

No other details regarding the incident were provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
