Moises Santiago Arrested Following Anaheim DUI Collision at Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue

Anaheim, California: Moises Lopez Santiago, 38, from Norwalk, was arrested following a fatal Anaheim DUI collision at Harbor Boulevard and Katella Avenue that left a man dead early Wednesday morning.

According to the Anaheim police, a man in a security-guard uniform was struck by a white Astro van driven by Santiago while walking southbound across the Harbor Boulevard. 

The accident was reported just before 1:15 a.m. on January 6.

 Police said the van crashed into a palm tree in front of the Islander Inn and Suites at 424W Katella Avenue.

The victim was found lying in a marked crosswalk and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the deceased was believed to have lived in Orange. His name was not released pending family notification.

 Santiago suffered major injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said Santiago was arrested and charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and for driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury.

No more details about the crash were provided.

The accident is under investigation.
