Woman Dies in San Bernardino County Collision on Interstate 15

San Bernardino County, California – A woman died and another person was arrested following a San Bernardino County crash involving a suspected DUI driver on Interstate 15 Sunday night, according to the CHP.

At about 10:37 p.m. December 20, CHP said they received a report of a collision involving a 2015 Honda Civic and a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The two were traveling southbound on Interstate 15 when the Honda crashed into the rear of the Chevrolet for undetermined reasons.

The wreck happened north of Harvard Road.

The impact caused the Chevrolet to move to the left and it came to a rest upside down in the dirt center divider. The Honda was pushed to the right shoulder and it burst into flames.

A 36-year-old Barstow woman who was a passenger in the Chevrolet died in the accident.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 42-year-old Barstow man and the occupants of the Honda, the driver, a 26-year-old San Bernardino man and his 29-year-old passenger, were all treated for minor injuries.

The driver of the Honda was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was booked at the High Desert Detention Center.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
