Benicia, California – The Solano County Coroner has identified Scott Hamers,48, as the pedestrian who was killed early Wednesday morning, following a Benicia car crash in the 1900 block of East Second Street.

According to the Benicia Police Department, Harmers was struck by a police patrol vehicle, for unknown reasons.

The accident occurred near the off- and on-ramps to I-780 at around 2 a.m. on November 11.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash and performed first aid measures to the victim, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries.

More details regarding the crash were not provided.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
