Anderson, California – A driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI following an Anderson hit-and-run accident that occurred on I-5 Friday night. 

The CHP said a black Dodge Avenger crashed into the rear of a pickup truck then slammed through a guardrail and struck a fence.

The wreck happened near Riverside Avenue and North Street.

The Dodge ended up off the side of the roadway and caught fire.

CHP said the operator of the Dodge fled from the scene but was located shortly after near Riverside Avenue and North Street. 

The driver was hospitalized and arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

The occupants of the pick-up only sustained minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
