Injuries Sustained in Santa Maria Crash on Highway 101 near Santa Maria Bridge

San Pablo, California – Gearry Terry Brown Jr, 37, and his father Gearry Sr., 70, were both killed in a Friday afternoon San Pablo accident that happened on Interstate 80, according to a local news source.

The incident was reported at around 5:52 p.m. October 2, near San Pablo Dam Road.

The California Highway Patrol said Brown Jr was driving a Kia sedan westbound on I-80 when, for unknown reasons, he crashed into a concrete wall that supports the over-crossing.

Following the impact of the crash, the sedan burst into flames, with the two occupants trapped inside.

As per a local news report, several drivers pulled over and worked together to pull the victims from the burning car.

The father and son were the only occupants of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Sadly, one of them was pronounced dead at the scene while the other party was rushed to Highland Hospital, where he was also pronounced dead.

According to the report, the two were from Vallejo.

The CHP is investigating to determine what led to the crash.
