Fatality in San Jose Commercial Van Collision at Alum Rock and Alexander Avenues

San Jose, California – Two people died Sunday morning following a San Jose van collision at Alum Rock and Alexander avenues.

According to a police report, a white 2007 work van was traveling westbound on Alum Rock Avenue at high speed when it ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a red 2002 Nissan Maxima heading south on Alexander Avenue.

The incident happened at around 8:15 a.m. on September 27.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, while his female passenger died later in a local hospital.

The Santa Clara County Coroner said it would release the name of the victims once they notify their families.

The van driver was arrested and booked into jail for reckless driving and vehicular manslaughter. He was not hurt.
