Man Killed in Acton Car Crash on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway ID’d as Allen Gaitan

Acton, California – Allen Gaitan, 41, of Palmdale, was the man killed in a single-car accident on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Acton on Sunday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Gaitan was driving a 1995 Toyota Corolla southbound on the freeway when he lost control of his car and went off the roadway.

The Toyota then crashed off the side of the freeway and went down an embankment onto Forest View Road before striking a chain-link fence.

The crash happened at about 8:50 p.m. on September 20.

CHP said Gaitan was ejected from the vehicle and was declared dead at the scene.

Mitch Gaitan, 30, of Palmdale, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for major injuries treatment.

Police said alcohol or drugs might have played a role in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
