Luis Chicas Seriously Hurt in San Joaquin County Collision on Highway 132

San Joaquin County, California – Luis C. Chicas, 46, of Redwood City was taken to a hospital with major injuries following a fatal collision that happened on Highway 132 in San Joaquin County Monday afternoon.

A child and an adult died following the crash that happened west of River Road at around 4 p.m. on Monday, September 7.

According to a CHP report, 29-year-old Cecilia M. Delgadillo of Oakland was driving a green 2001 Honda Civic east on Highway 132 when she attempted to overtake traffic and partially swerved into the westbound side.

She then made a sharp turn to the right shoulder and the Honda spun counterclockwise.

The Honda then crossed both lanes of the highway and was hit by an oncoming white 2000 Ford E-350 van that was being operated by Chicas.

Chicas sustained major injuries in the accident and was taken to San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp. A passenger in his vehicle, identified as Irvin Z. Medina, 34, of Redwood City, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Delgadillo, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was killed in the accident. A 12-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Honda was also killed in the crash.

Two children, aged 2 and 8, were hospitalized with serious injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Arin Khodaverdian, CEO and Managing Attorney of Alpine Law Group, urges accidents victims and their families to immediately seek legal assistance. “Those who are affected by tragedy have rights, but they must act quickly in order to preserve those rights. Swift action by an intelligent and experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
