Tasjuan Drake Injured in Merced County Collision at Turlock and Oakdale Roads

Merced County, California – Tasjuan Drake, 28, of Oakdale was seriously injured in a fatal Merced County accident on Turlock and Oakdale roads near Denair on Sunday night.

According to the CHP, a 7-year-old Oakland boy identified as Drayden Drake died in the collision.

The accident happened at about 9:20 p.m. August 23.

Tasjuan Drake was operating a 2011 Cadillac SUV northbound on Oakdale Road when he collided with a 2013 Ford Fusion that was being operated by Catherine Brehm, 58, of Coulterville.

The Ford was eastbound on Turlock Road when the collision occurred.

Drayden Drake, who was a passenger in the Cadillac, was transported to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, where he was pronounced deceased.

Tasjuan Drake and Heather Hill, 25, of Oakdale, who also was a passenger in the SUV, were both taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries.

A 2-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, who were also in the SUV, were both taken to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera with moderate injuries.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
