Dana Point, California – Brian Carbonell, 25, of Rancho Santa Margarita sustained critical injuries in a traffic crash that left his twin brother dead on August 19 in Dana Point, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

The Laguna Beach police were pursuing a Toyota Corolla at around 10 p.m. on the PCH near Niguel Road when they stopped the chase for unknown reasons.

Shortly after, the Toyota collided with a Subaru Outback at PCH and Selva Road.

The driver of the Outback, Jason Carbonell, 23, of Rancho Santa Margarita, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Brian and Jason’s girlfriend Mayly Willey, were passengers in the Outback. Brian was taken to Mission Hospital with major injuries including a badly bruised lung and five rib fractures.

Willey was treated for ankle injuries at the hospital.

The driver of the Toyota, only identified as a woman in her 40s, was taken to a hospital and arrested in connection with the incident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Arin Khodaverdian, CEO and Managing Attorney of Alpine Law Group, urges accidents victims and their families to immediately seek legal assistance. “Those who are affected by tragedy have rights, but they must act quickly in order to preserve those rights. Swift action by an intelligent and experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
