2 Killed, 4 Injured in Multi-vehicle Collision on Interstate 5 in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, California – Two people were killed, and four others injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 in South Bakersfield Sunday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash, involving three vehicles, was reported at around 3 p.m. August 16, on northbound I-5 near State Route 166,

CHP said a driver of a Ford F-150 truck was traveling south on I-5 and when they noticed debris in the fast lane and tried to avoid it.

The truck lost control and veered into the northbound lanes colliding with a Honda SUV and another semi-truck.

Following the impact of the crash, the SUV flipped and went off the right side of the road and into an orchard.

Two people inside the Honda were killed in the crash, and three others were injured, one of them severely. The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment.

CHP said the truck driver sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

Police shut down I-5 at the Highway 99 transition for several hours. The lanes were reopened at about 6:30 p.m.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be a factor in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
